Why Choose This Masai Mara Safari?

This private safari gives you the freedom to explore the Masai Mara at your own pace.

Unlike a group safari, your game drives are planned around your interests. You can spend more time watching a pride of lions, photographing elephants, searching for leopards, or simply enjoying the peaceful landscape.

Travelling in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser also provides more comfort, better visibility, and access to different areas of the reserve.

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi.

Meet your private Trek Afrika Adventures driver-guide and depart in a comfortable 4x4 Land Cruiser towards the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The journey takes you through Kenya’s central highlands before descending into the Great Rift Valley. You will stop at a scenic viewpoint to enjoy the sweeping landscape and take photographs.

Continue through local farming areas, small towns, and traditional Maasai countryside before arriving at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch.

After checking in and relaxing briefly, depart for your first afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara.

The reserve’s open grasslands make it an excellent place to see wildlife. Look out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

As the sun begins to set over the savannah, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for a full day of wildlife viewing in the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The Mara is famous for its high concentration of animals and offers excellent game-viewing opportunities throughout the year.

Your driver-guide will explore different sections of the reserve while searching for the Big Five:

You may also see cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, gazelles, elands, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.

During the Great Migration season, usually between July and October, thousands of wildebeest and zebras enter the Masai Mara from Tanzania’s Serengeti. Depending on the movement of the herds, you may visit the Mara River, where dramatic crossings sometimes take place.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve while surrounded by the beautiful African wilderness.

You may also choose to visit a traditional Maasai village at an additional cost. During the visit, you will meet members of the local community, learn about their traditions, visit their homesteads, and enjoy cultural songs and dances.

After an exciting day, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and another overnight stay.
