Your Malindi holiday begins with your journey from Nairobi to Kenya’s beautiful North Coast.For the most convenient option, take a direct flight from Nairobi to Malindi Airport, followed by a short transfer to your selected hotel. An SGR package can also be arranged, with travel from Nairobi to Mombasa followed by a road transfer to Malindi.
Upon arrival, meet your driver and transfer to your selected beach resort. Check in, unpack and take the rest of the afternoon slowly. There are no tours today. Instead, change into your beach clothes and start enjoying the Coast. Take your first swim in the Indian Ocean, relax beside the pool or walk along the beach as you settle into the easy rhythm of Malindi.

After breakfast, spend part of the day discovering a side of Malindi that goes beyond its beaches. Malindi has a long history as an important settlement along the East African Coast, and several historic landmarks provide a glimpse into its past.
Vasco da Gama Pillar
Visit the famous Vasco da Gama Pillar, one of Malindi’s best-known landmarks. Standing beside the Indian Ocean, the monument dates back to the Portuguese presence on the East African Coast and remains one of the town’s most recognizable historical attractions. Take some time to enjoy the ocean views and capture photographs before continuing your exploration.
Malindi Historical & Cultural Experience
Continue exploring selected historical and cultural attractions around Malindi. Depending on your chosen tour, the experience can include other heritage sites and a short exploration of Malindi town.
After sightseeing, return to your hotel.Spend the afternoon exactly how a coastal afternoon should be spent – swimming, relaxing by the pool or doing very little at all.

Wake up to another beautiful morning at the Coast and enjoy breakfast. Today is your main relaxation day. There is no compulsory sightseeing and nowhere you need to rush to. Spend the morning walking along the beach, swimming in the Indian Ocean or enjoying your resort facilities.
Optional Malindi Marine National Park Experience
If you’d like to add some adventure, head out for an optional marine experience at Malindi Marine National Park. Depending on the excursion selected and sea conditions, enjoy a glass-bottom boat trip and snorkeling in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. It’s a great way to add some ocean adventure without taking away your entire relaxation day.
Want Something Different?
Instead of the marine excursion, you can add a trip towards Mambrui Sand Dunes and Marafa Hell’s Kitchen for a completely different side of Malindi. Explore the dramatic coastal landscapes before enjoying the changing colours of Marafa towards sunset.
Return to your hotel later in the evening for your final night in Malindi.

Enjoy your final breakfast in Malindi. Depending on your departure time, spend the morning taking one last swim, walking along the beach or relaxing beside the pool.
Later, check out and meet your driver. Guests travelling by air will transfer to Malindi Airportfor the flight back to Nairobi. Guests travelling by SGR will begin the road journey towards Mombasa SGR Terminus before boarding the train to Nairobi.
