It's time to leave the city behind and head for the Coast.
For a faster journey, fly from Nairobi to Malindi Airport, where you'll be met and transferred to your selected Watamu resort. Alternatively, travel aboard the SGR from Nairobi to Mombasa, followed by a road transfer north to Watamu. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and settle in.
The rest of the afternoon is completely free. Head to the beach, enjoy your first swim in the Indian Ocean or relax beside the pool as you settle into holiday mode. In the evening, enjoy dinner and the festive atmosphere at your resort.

Wake up to your first full morning in Watamu and enjoy breakfast. Today is about enjoying the Coast without a schedule. Spend your morning swimming, relaxing beside the pool or walking along the beach. Families can enjoy the hotel's available activities, while couples and groups can settle into Watamu's laid-back holiday atmosphere.
Optional water sports, spa treatments and other experiences can be arranged if you'd like to do more. Otherwise, find a good spot beside the ocean and enjoy having nowhere you need to be.

Enjoy breakfast at your resort before spending Christmas Day swimming, relaxing and celebrating with the people you travelled with. Depending on your selected resort, the Christmas programme may include:

After breakfast, it's time to experience the ocean. Head out for an adventure in Watamu Marine National Park, one of the highlights of a holiday in Watamu.
Glass-Bottom Boat Experience
Board a glass-bottom boat and cruise through Watamu's tropical waters while enjoying views of the coastline and glimpses of the underwater environment.
Snorkeling
When conditions allow, put on your snorkeling equipment and enter the warm Indian Ocean. Explore the marine environment and look out for colourful tropical fish and coral. After the excursion, return to your hotel and spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing.

Enjoy breakfast and spend the morning at leisure. Take a swim, relax beside the pool or enjoy your resort facilities. Later in the afternoon, head towards beautiful Mida Creek.
Mida Creek Sunset Experience
Surrounded by mangroves, calm waters and birdlife, Mida Creek offers a completely different atmosphere from Watamu's open beaches. Depending on your selected experience, take a traditional dhow or canoe through the creek and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Sit back and watch the colours change as the sun begins to disappear over the mangroves.It's a beautiful way to spend one of your final evenings in Watamu.
New Year's Eve in Watamu
If Day 5 falls on 31 December, return to your hotel with enough time to prepare for the night's celebrations. Dress up and get ready to welcome the New Year at the Coast.

Wake up to your final morning in Watamu. If you've just celebrated New Year's Eve, enjoy a slow start and your first breakfast of the New Year. Depending on your departure schedule, spend a few more hours swimming, relaxing or walking along the beach.
Later, check out and meet your driver. Guests travelling by air will transfer to Malindi Airport, while guests travelling by SGR will transfer south to Mombasa SGR Terminus. Board your flight or train back to Nairobi and bring your five-night festive holiday to an end.
