Why Choose This Safari?

This safari has been designed for travelers who want to experience Uganda’s greatest highlights in one trip. Instead of focusing on a single destination, you’ll visit three of the country’s most celebrated national parks, enjoy close encounters with mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, explore open savannahs filled with wildlife, and connect with local communities.

From rainforest adventures to classic African game drives and peaceful boat cruises, every day offers something different, making this one of the most complete safari experiences in Uganda.

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe. As you leave the city behind, the scenery quickly changes to rolling hills, farmland, tea plantations, and traditional villages.

A lunch stop is made in Hoima before continuing towards Fort Portal, a charming town set against the backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Before arriving at your lodge, you'll explore the nearby crater lakes and enjoy beautiful views across the tea-growing region. It's the perfect introduction to western Uganda's stunning landscapes.

Later, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner surrounded by nature.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters where you'll receive a short briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking adventure.

Walking through the rainforest is an experience in itself. The forest is alive with birdsong and the sounds of monkeys moving through the trees. Besides chimpanzees, you may also spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, baboons, and many colourful bird species.

Once the chimpanzees are located, you'll spend time watching them feed, communicate, groom each other, and swing effortlessly through the forest canopy.

In the afternoon, visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community conservation project known for its rich birdlife and diverse wildlife. The guided walk offers another chance to spot monkeys, birds, butterflies, and other wetland species while learning how tourism supports local conservation efforts.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, continue your safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's most popular wildlife reserve.

Following lunch at your lodge, head out on your first afternoon game drive across the open plains.

Keep watch for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, hyenas, and, with a little luck, lions resting beneath the acacia trees. The park is also home to hundreds of bird species, making it a fantastic destination for wildlife lovers.

As the sun begins to set, return to the lodge to relax before dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Wake up early for one of the best wildlife viewing experiences of the safari.

Morning is the perfect time to explore the Kasenyi Plains, when many animals are active before the heat of the day. Your guide will help you search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, waterbucks, and many other species.

After breakfast and some time to relax, enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel.

This natural waterway is one of Uganda's richest wildlife areas. Large pods of hippos spend their days in the water while crocodiles bask along the shoreline. Elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species often gather at the water's edge, creating fantastic opportunities for photography.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, continue south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Your journey takes you through the Ishasha Sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. If you're lucky, you may spot them resting high in the branches of giant fig trees—one of Uganda's most unique wildlife sights.

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing as you prepare for tomorrow's gorilla trekking adventure.

Today is the moment you've been waiting for.

After breakfast, make your way to the park headquarters where you'll receive a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority before entering the rainforest with your guide and ranger.

The trek can take anywhere from two to eight hours depending on where your assigned gorilla family is located. Although the walk can be challenging, every step is worth it.

When you finally come face to face with the mountain gorillas, you'll have one unforgettable hour to quietly observe them as they feed, care for their young, play, and interact with one another.

After returning to the lodge for lunch, you can choose to visit the nearby Batwa community, where you'll learn about their traditional forest lifestyle through storytelling, music, dance, and local crafts.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.

Along the way, stop once more at the Uganda Equator, where you can take photos and pick up souvenirs.

Lunch will be served at the Igongo Cultural Centre, where you may also choose to visit the museum before continuing your journey.

Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the late afternoon, bringing your unforgettable Uganda safari to an end.
